GRATEFUL SUNDAY

• Nick is feeling better and eating lots more,We will see tomorrow if his blood sugar went up.
• Days like today where Nick and I did absolutely nothing but love each other and enjoy relaxing together
• A Job,It defiantly isn't the job that I wanted but ITS A JOB and it will keep us from having to use funds from our "NEW HOUSE" account until I can find A better job.
• My dog Jag who loves me unconditionally, I always thought my Mom was crazy for loving her dog the way I now love mine.... I cant imagine what having A child will be like
• GREAT FRIENDS!!!
• My Devotional book....Things have been rough lately and on the days where I was down the most I always found something inspiring in that book....

AFTER BEFOREI was Over at my parents house tonight and they are getting ready to have A Yard sale. So of course I wanted to check things out and see if I saw anything I would like. I found this little vanity chair,I fell in looooveeee. I knew I had some old fabric and had A great idea!!! So here is the before and the after..BTW Nick is doing much better and eating LOOOTSSS more... Have A great weekend.. XOXO ALWAYS

Update on Nick

Nick started his IVS yesterday!!!!! When we went to the Dr. two weeks ago and Nick gave A culture. We had to wait on the culture to get back to see what Nick was growing in order to start his IVS. Nick finally started IVS yesterday and oh what fun it has been.They have him on one antibiotic that he has to change every 8 hours. So this means many sleepless nights,Not a lot of fun.Nick doesn't mind too much because he would do anything to not have to stay in the hospital.His nurse came out yesterday and drew blood. When she came today she said that Nicks blood came back and that his blood sugar was VERY low. She was pretty concerned about that and says its from Nick not eating.Throughout the day Nick is suppose to eat 4500 calories A day. I am lucky if he eats 1500 calories A day. It is A constant struggle with Nick and cystic fibrosis. It is so emotionally and physically draining for the both of us I am sure. I just feel like I am at A loss of what to do anymore.Since we got back from camp Nick has been doing great with his meds, I am so thankful for that. I swear though if its not one thing its another.Its just A never ending battle that I am so tired of fighting...Nick too!!!! Anyways I am just venting, Other than that Nick is doing fine he just never has A appetite. I will keep everyone updated. XOXO Amanda

Good Times

My two faviorite ladysChelsea and I Relaxing at the landingThe whole gang at the Budweiser factorySandy,Mike and Brandon Group picture Brandon and I The other night I was invited to go to A CF meeting at Nemours.Nemours is where Nick use to go before he converted over into the adult CF center. There was A Dr. from New Jersey who was talking to everyone about quality care and new things in the CF world.It was really nice to get to go I got to see Nicks old Dr's and some of his respiratory therapist. Not only did I get to go to the meeting but some of my new friends from camp were there. So we decided after to head out to the landing to catch up.It was A quick reminder of why us women need A lady's night out. This weekend some long time family friends of ours came in town.For some reason we always take everyone to the Budweiser brewery. Its really neat and interesting and they offer free tours and tasting.Its something everyone seems to enjoy!!! I got some new from Brents Mom about his condition. The Dr's went in and found out that Brent had two ulcers, One that was bleeding and one that was not. They went in and clamped and glued off the one that was bleeding in hopes it will remain that way otherwise surgery is next.The Dr's believe that the ulcers are from all the ibuprofen Brent has been taking due to headaches from the zosyn.So please continue to keep this family in your prayers. PRAYING FOR BRENT

While Nick and I were at camp we met Brent who is 19 and has cf.His family were the sweetest and we had A really great time with them. I was just informed that Brent received A blood transfusion today. After having so Bowel problems he lost a lot of blood and began passing out. After going to his Dr. They sent him straight to the Er where his hemoglobin level was EXTREMELY low and that is when they decided he needed A blood transfusion. Its not until tomorrow that they will perform A endoscopy to find out where he is internally bleeding.For right now Brent remains in the ICU. They believe it is either A ulcer or A allergic reaction to the Zosyn he has been taking.Please keep Brent along with his family in your prayers. After speaking with his Mom I realized how much it hurts to have to see your son in that kind of pain and fear. Thanks

Courtney And ChuckRelaxing in the poolMy Mother in law BettyJag was terrified of the fireworks My Haley Bug I hope everyone had A great fourth of July, I know we did.Every year for the Fourth of July Nick and I usually pack A picnic. We drive down town and to avoid crowds head to the top of Baptist Hospital. It is such A nice view of the fireworks from the landing.This year because of Nicks brothers birthday we decided to have A Fourth of July part/Birthday party.Early yesterday morning Nick and I started cooking the ribs.Instead of standing over A hot grill all day we decided to try something different.We took our ribs and put them in A crock pot with BBQ sauce,Vinegar and water. Then we let them cook all day,They were absolutely DELISH.Later on that afternoon we also had Oysters Which are not really for me. I have never tried A oyster I could never get past the look of the oyster.Nick begged me and so I figured I would try it, And it actually doesn't taste like anything. When I started to look at it though I got freaked out and couldn't eat any more of it. We stayed in the pool most of the day and just relaxed,It was so nice. I made A birthday cake for Tyler and it was nothing short of heaven.It was A butter pecan cake with home made cream cheese frosting... YUMMO On another note, I have been kinda stressing out about Nick. Since we got back from camp Nick has been doing all of his meds and treatments religiously,Which has been so nice. I am so happy that I don't have to fight that fight right now with him.I am kinda concerned because he is not sounding too good. He was suppose to have A Dr.Appointment right when we got back from camp,He was so tired that he called and cancelled his appointment in order to get some rest.Good excuse right??? Not.Since then he has not yet to call and make another Dr.Appointment so I am gonna have to call tomorrow and make it for him.He is defiantly in need of A tune up.
