I AM SUCH A SLACKER

I just want to start off by saying.... OOOPS! I can believe I have been slacking and have totally been putting off with keeping up the blog. There is SO much going on right now, And since it has been A while since I have posted this will probably be A long one...WOOPS. I just recently started A new job... Still A preschool teacher and I love it. My class size is three times smaller and I am getting paid WAY more so it is A lot easier to enjoy my job.I am still trying to get use to the drive and the traffic. I am now working in riverside which is such A nice atmosphere but such A far drive. I am just happy because Nick and I can really start saving for A house. Nick is doing great he just started A new study on inhaled Cipro which is different.Nick loves doing these studies I think it makes him feel like he is doing his part in finding A cure for CF. He is still gaining weight which we are REALLY excited about and Dr says his lungs sound good. As most of you know people with CF can get A infection at any moment that can take their Life. Yes, We do everything possible to prevent that from happening but sometimes it is the inevitable. With that in mind I always try to make sure that Nick and I make the best memories. I don't want Nick to ever have any regrets about not living his life to the fullest. I want to thank my Mom because she recently bought Nick and I along with herself and my Step Dad tickets to go see Nickelback in Concert. Nick and I are HUGE Nickelback fans. To the average person this is just A concert. For someone like Nick and I moments like this one will be something that we will never forget. I will always be able to look back and have these memories. We got AMAZING seats super close. So both Nick and I are REALLY excited about the concert. It is not until April so we will be biting our nails until then. I am starting school February 10th for my CDA. When I receive my CDA I will then be making more money which is always good. SO for right now things are looking great . I cant ever say enough how thankful I am to have Nick in my life. When I am not with him I am always thinking about him or Bragging on him. He really is A Amazing husband. With that said I hope everyone has A great Valentines Day but I am sure you will here from me before then.... XOXO Always

ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!!!!

I SAID ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!!!!! Ok so I had to get on here and brag A little bit.I hope everyone else enjoyed watching that game as much as Nick and I did. Nick and I got invited to A party with some old friends that we haven't really got to hang out with A whole lot lately. It was so good to see everyone and catch up and enjoy the game. I once again have been super busy with fundraising for the CF foundation and just life in general that I haven't had much time to write. BIG NEWS THOUGH... Nick has gained 5 pounds.... If you don't know for someone with CF to gain any weight is kind of A big deal. So we were really happy about that. Kinda weird though when you loose 5 pounds you don't seem to see it much but I can really tell Nick has gained that 5 pounds.. LOL Anyways Hope everyone has A great weekend... I know that football game was A great way to kick off the weekend... Oh yeah don't forget to visit our Great Strides link and help CF stand for Cure Found... The link is to the right XOXO ALWAYS

Made my heart warm

When I started out writing this blog it was my way to write about how I feel as A wife to someone with CF. I wanted to write about the ups and downs of being A CF wife. For me it was A great way for me to vent. As I kept writing more and more I began to get even more responses from my readers. The other day I received this message in my myspace inbox.

"Amanda,I just wanted to introduce myself because I just found your blog through a posting on cysticfibrosis. org and I think you may have just made my year!I have been dating my boyfriend, Danny for the past year ( we had our one year anniversary on Dec 28th) and he has CF. He is 26 years old and actually right now he is in the hospital for a "tune up", but other than that he is doing fairly well. We met at our best friend's wedding in Dallas last December and fell instantly fell in love. The catch was he lived in Kansas City, MO and I live in Houston, TX! So we have been carrying on a long distance relationship this whole time. We spend most of our money on plane tickets these days, but so far it's been working out great. Just reading your blog gave me something to relate to since I don't know many people that have CF or are married to someone that has CF. Danny and I have already talked about getting married and we know that it is in our near future, but it always helps to know that there are other people like us out there dealing with the same issues. Anyways, I could go on and on but for now I just wanted to say hello and thank you for sharing!

much love,Claudia "

I was SO happy to receive this message and it effected me in more ways than one. I am always happy to hear about older CF patients because it just gives me so much hope. When Nick and I first got together and I found out about him having CF I too felt ALL ALONE. It really is not A pleasant feeling. So for me to feel like I have helped even one person makes me feel like A very special person. As i read her story I thought it was so adorable and incredible that not only is she dealing with the fun of cf but doing it through A long distance relationship. Anyways I just loved this story and wanted to say A big THANK YOU, To Claudia because YOU made me feel great about what I do. Hope everyone has A great week.... XOXO ALWAYS

A Year Of Optimisim

Happy New Year from Nick and I. I hope everyone had A great time last night bringing in the New Year. Nick and I went over to A friends house and enjoyed each others company around A nice bonfire and then everyone came back to Nicks Mom and Dads house to bring in the New Year. I am so very thankful for the wonderful year we had in 2008. I am not going to say we were not drug through the mud A little but with Lots of Family, Friends, Prayer and Faith in God, We made it through one more year. For the average person another year is another year. For someone like Nick and I another year without declining health is An Amazing accomplishment. It is something most people take for granted. So with that in mind let this be A reminder to be thankful. Be thankful for your Good health,Family,Great friends and Another year.I am so excited to see what is to come this year. I know that God has BIG plans for both Nick and I. I hope everyone has A great New Year and BE THANKFUL. XOXO ALWAYS
