For A good cause

Nicks and his AMAZING nurse RonnieNicks her faviorite....Did I say that?Greg,Barry and Nick....Kicking Cf in the buttWhen Nick was in the hospital A couple of weeks ago his lovely nurse Ronnie came in and gave us some good news. Somebody,She wouldn't tell us who bought tickets for Nick and I to go to this years third annual silent auction. All of the money from the silent auction goes towards the adult cystic fibrosis office that Nick goes to.We were pretty excited about it since we got to go last year and had A BLAST... Its fun to get all dressed up and go and visit with all of Nicks old nurses from Wolfsons and his nurses now. They really are like family to us and we are truly blessed to have A team like them. While we were there we met two GREAT guys and I had the pleasure of meeting another CF wife,Which is so nice.We met Greg and Barry,Both in their 50s and kicking CF'S butt. Greg actually had A double lung transplant back in 1997. He is doing VERY well and looked great. It was nice to talk to someone who was 12 years strong after their transplant. Nick and I had A good time,it was at the Cummer art museum downtown. They raised TONS of money for such a good cause, Its so nice to see. Nick and I have A busy weekend ahead of us...Tomorrow we are going with Nicks sister Courtney and her husband Chuck for pics. She is taking some maternity pics and Nick and I need A Christmas card pic. The weather is SO gross out so I have No idea where we are going to go now.We shall see.... Tomorrow night we have the Christmas parade hopefully that will help me get in the Christmas spirit...Hope everyone has A GREAT weekend!!!! XOXO Always

Home Sweet Home

Yesterday Nick and I got the new we would be coming home. It was kind of A shower being we thought he would be in there for 2 weeks,We were ready though. So Nick is sound asleep and finishing out his IVS at home. While we were in the hospital we got some news that I don't think we were quite ready for.As A someone with Cf, Nick knew this conversation was coming we just didn't know when. Nicks Dr. decided that Nick should go ahead and be put on the list for A double lung transplant.Nick is not sick enough now that he needs it.Unfortunately CF is A progressive disease and his Dr. would just like him to be ready for when he is.It was such A bitter sweet conversation because I know how life changing this transplant will be for my husband,However I also know the road there will not be easy. I am so excited to see Nick run and dance and climb stairs and not get out of breath.Nick is still soaking it all in.I know from this conversation he is more determined than ever to get better and get his numbers up. I know he has A amazing support team who is cheering him on. There are a lot of people praying for Nick and it is so appreciated. Please keep your words of encouragement coming as Nick will need it in these months to come.We love all of you more than you will ever know and are forever grateful for the support you have shown to us.I will defiantly be keeping you updated. Our address is below for anyone who would like to send any encouraging words to Nick. Thanks Again XOXO Always Amanda

NEW NEW NEW

Things have been super crazy so I have not had time write. Being that I don't have a lot of time to sit and write Whole lot I am going to start doing something called Super Sunday. Every Sunday weather I have time to write or not I am going to Do A list or write whatever is going on at the time on Sundays. That way at least once A week I can catch up . After school ends I will back to writing all the time. Anyways I am excited about that. Nick is doing well. We had A incident last week where Nick was working on A truck and he went to pull the drive shaft out and the truck rolled back onto him while he was under the truck. Thank God he didn't have more serious injuries. Nick was laying on his side and the truck busted his hip open and he has A minor cut. So he is still trying to recover from that as it bruised his muscle. Not only have we been dealing with that but Nick got some bad news at his Dr. the other day. Nick went to the Dr. for his routine CF checkup and he found out that he lots 3 pounds. We also found out that Nicks Dr. will be leaving us and moving to New York. So Nick is really having A hard time with that due to the fact that there is not another CF Dr. In Jacksonville at the time. His Dr. will be leaving in June and in the mean time the office will be working on finding A new CF specialist. So please keep us in your prayers that we will get A great Dr. that knows what he is doing. I just started school and have been busy as ever. I love it though, I am learning so much. I am just A firm believer in when you know better you do better. By me going to school I am learning so much that I can apply to my classroom and my teaching style. I am excited about things to come. I just got glasses so I am trying to get use to them, Nick loves them which is funny. We are also getting ready for the Great Strides walk on May 2ND. If you haven't already PLEASE PLEASE click on the link to the right and make A donation towards our team. 90 CENTS OF EVERY DOLLAR DONATED GOES TOWARDS FINDING A CURE... PLEASE HELP CF STAND FOR CURE FOUND... God bless XOXO ALWAYS

Blah Blah Blah

HELLO, I hope everyone is having A great weekend. Nick and I are just relaxing here at the house. I started school this past Tuesday so lots of homework already. I have to admit it I enjoy doing it. Its not like when you were in high school and you dread doing your homework. I am so excited about learning more because knowledge is power. I absolutely love working as A preschool teacher. This past Wednesday I met with the ladies from the CF foundation,I really love them. They are terrific!!! We have the Great Strides walk coming up in May. Last year I didn't have alot of time to fund raise but this year we are on the ball. I am super excited about all the fundraising we have going on. We are doing our online fundraising which you can find the link to at the right of the page. We also have A silent tea party we are doing which is so cute. Then we have our pinups that we are selling for A dollar at local restaurants. Once it gets A little warmer we will be doing some car washes. Our goal as A team is 1500.00 dollars, And without a dought in my mind are we going to reach that goal and maybe more. WOOOHOOO. Anyways Things are good Nick went to the Dr. On Wednesday for his study that he is doing. His lungs sound great and he even gained 2 more pounds. I am so proud of him . Hope everyone has A great weekend... XOXO Always
