Who likes to be hungry right? I know I surely dont!!! Well here is what you can do to help...

On Saturday May 8th place non perishable food items in A bag and leave in at or by your mail box. Your mail carrier will then deliver them to LOCAL food banks, That way it benefits your community directly.

What A awesome way to help out especially when your belly is full....

• More than 90 percent of the food banks reported surges in demand being driven by more first-time users of the food assistance system  and more newly unemployed.
• 72 percent reported existing clients needing assistance more frequently now than in the past
• 56 percent reported seeing more children as clients
• Helping Stamp Out Hunger is as easy as checking your mailbox.  Just leave a bag of non-perishable food where your letter carrier normally delivers your mail on Saturday, May 8.  Your letter carrier will then pick up and deliver the food to a local food bank.  Examples of non-perishable items include:
  
  • Canned soup
• Canned meats and fish
• Canned vegetables, fruits and juices
• Boxed goods (such as cereal)
• Pasta and rice

Yes It is A little uncomfortable,But I can say that I am responsible for saving THREE lives today. How awesome is that!!!! Today we had A blood drive at work, So on my lunch break off I was to donate. Not only did I donate today but I hit my gallon mark woot woot...Anyways Donating blog is A AMAZING thing, I wish people did it more often.

I have done this A bunch of times and yet I was still A little nearvous..

This lady takes my blood everytime, No one else, She is that good

And were off...

Three lives right there...Makes my heart smile

1.Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood

 9.More than 1 million new people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Many of them will need blood, sometimes daily, during their chemotherapy treatment.

10.A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 units of blood.

 

FOR MCLUVIN

While at camp this past week we met lots of great people, And then there was MCLUVIN. Okay his name is Robert Schwarzman and he is 20 years old and also like Nick has CF.He is also on the list for A double lung transplant at the University of North Carolina.We had the joy of hanging out with him and learning from him. He taught us a lot about receiving A transplant and calmed some of Nicks fears. Although Nick is not on A transplant list it is not something that is ever out of the question for someone with Cf. When Robert receives his double lung transplant,The transplant is covered but unfortunately the cost of living after A transplant is not. So I am asking you to make A donation. No amount is too small,If you donate more than three dollars you will receive one of the cool CF bracelets shown above.Really what is three dollars, Less than your cup of Starbucks.
